As you may have already been able to guess I'm not your typical candidate for city council. My name is Patrick Wanket and I'm running for city council not for fame or fortune but to uplift the voices of those within our city who are tired of the status quo. I'm 19 years old and while many might believe my age should disqualify me from seeking such a position, it's actually my youth that gives me the edge in this race. The future of Stockton begins with our youth. I don't just understand the problems, struggles, and temptations that the youth of today feel I've lived through them. Not 20 or 30 years ago but now. Not only that but for the past 2 years I've worked in a grocery store here in Stockton. I've seen the lengths people go to try and feed their families. I've seen parents pick between diapers and fresh produce for them and their loved ones. Stockton families are struggling. While homelessness and crime are definitely top agenda items for me you can't completely expect for those to get better if we don't tackle core issues leading to them in the first place. Now I could keep on going but we all know that actions speak louder than words so that's why I'm asking you to invest in a Stockton that we are all proud to call home and let me act on your behalf in city hall.
